Welcome to the UK Mesothelioma Alliance (UKMA)

Around 2,500 people in the UK are diagnosed with mesothelioma per year and the UKMA was established to bring together mesothelioma stakeholders as one voice to raise awareness of this asbestos-related cancer.

The UK Mesothelioma Alliance believes that:

  • Equitable access to treatment and care wherever patients are in the UK is crucial to improve outcomes
  • Raising awareness of mesothelioma and the dangers of asbestos is vital to both increase early diagnosis and reduce exposure to asbestos

The first specific initiative which the UK Mesothelioma Alliance is leading is the development of a Service Specification and Optimal Pathway for Mesothelioma.


Service Specification Meeting

The Service Specification and Optimal Pathway for Mesothelioma Development Group met on Tuesday 3rd April 2018 to discuss the first draft of the Service Specification (produced by Professor Peake).
